Kyle Kosier Agrees to New Deal With Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms with left guard Kyle Kosier, solidifying that side of the offensive line after re-signing left tackle Doug Free a day earlier. Kosier has been the Cowboys’ starter at left guard since 2006, but was hobbled by injury last season. Kosier played exceptionally well alongside Free in Free’s first season as a starter and Dallas head coach Jason Garrett says he thinks the two will continue to improve as they go forward with their new contracts. Kosier agreed to a three-year deal worth approximately $9 million.

The Dallas Cowboys have already anchored part of the left side of the team’s offensive line by re-signing left tackle Doug Free on Tuesday. Now Dallas is focused on bringing back left guard Kyle Kosier, who has been the team’s starter at the position since 2006. Kosier’s agent, Kenneth Zuckerman, has talked to other NFL teams, but has now turned his attention to re-signing his client with Dallas. Kosier is expected to agree to terms with the Cowboys on a new contract by the end of the weekend.

Dallas Cowboys Release Marion Barber, Roy Williams, Leonard Davis, Kris Brown

In an effort to get under the $120 million salary cap mandated by the new NFL collective bargaining agreement, the Dallas Cowboys have decided to release right guard Leonard Davis, receiver Roy Williams, running back Marion Barber and kicker Kris Brown. The Cowboys cleared roughly $16.6 million in cap space with these four moves that will become official on Thursday. (more…)

Dallas Cowboys Agree to Terms With Free Agent LT Doug Free

In less than 24 hours of the NFL lockout ending, the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms with free agent left tackle Doug Free for a new contract. The new deal is worth $32 million and will keep Free in Dallas for at least the next four years. Free was considered the most sought-after left tackle free agent in recent NFL history, but decided very quickly to stay in Dallas. (more…)

New NFL Salary Cap Could Hurt Dallas Cowboys’ Free Agent Spending

The new NFL collective bargaining agreement is coming together, giving fans more optimism the league will officially begin its 2011 off season by its tentative July 21 deadline. However, this new deal brings some bad news for several teams, including the Dallas Cowboys. The new CBA has set a $120 million salary cap for the 2011 season, well above the spending rate of several teams, like Dallas. This will make it very difficult for these teams to sign free agents and their 2011 draft picks. (more…)
